Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown announced Monday that he has settled a lawsuit stemming from an April 2018 incident at a Florida apartment complex.Brown allegedly trashed an apartment and threw furniture off the 14th-floor balcony of the complex. The man who filed the suit, Ophir Sternberg, claimed Brown had endangered his 22-month-old son and the boy's grandfather by nearly hitting them with the items thrown from the condo window."The legal dispute between Ophir Sternberg and me has been resolved, with a confidential sum of funds being donated to charity," Brown wrote in a since-deleted tweet. "I am sorry that an incident occurred. I apologize for any statements we made in court filings or otherwise to Mr. Sternberg and family. I wish Mr. Sternberg my best with regard to future endeavors and through this settlement, seek to make amends with Mr. Sternberg and family."Attorneys for Brown filed a motion in October to dismiss the lawsuit, according to Sean Gentile of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The filing stated that Sternberg's claims were "false, meritless, and a flagrant misinterpretation of the situation that occurred."Brown released a statement the same day the motion to dismiss the suit was filed, saying "the facts will soon come out that prove my innocence."The All-Pro receiver - who was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers at the time - was in a rage over a missing $80,000 in cash and a handgun, according to Sternberg's suit and police reports obtained by Gentile. After releasing his statement Monday, Brown posted seven tweets in quick succession, ranging from inspirational-type quotes to photos of his children.

In the NFL, teams at the bottom of the standings can be optimistic about delivering a winning season within a relatively short period of time; it only took the Los Angeles Rams two years to go from 4-12 to the Super Bowl. There are currently 10 teams that have been held out of the postseason for three or more seasons. Here's a look at five that have the potential to end their playoff drought in 2019.Arizona CardinalsIcon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyLast playoff appearance: 2015After winning only three games last year, the Cardinals enter 2019 with a new coaching staff and quarterback, with significant turnover in key defensive positions. Kliff Kingsbury will have David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and now Kyler Murray as playmakers in his Air Raid system that could capitalize on the NFL's current offensive landscape that rewards speed and pace. The Cardinals now have the ability to surprise opposing defenses after owning the league's worst offense in 2018.One of Arizona's largest weaknesses last season was its offensive line, which has since been bolstered with the additions of Marcus Gilbert and Max Garcia. They also addressed needs on defense, acquiring Terrell Suggs, Jordan Hicks, and Robert Alford to add to their talented core of Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson.Teams that have held the No. 1 pick in the past decade have seen significant success the following year.YearTeamRecord in Previous SeasonRecord Following No. 1 pick2008Dolphins1-1511-5 (won AFC East)2009Lions0-162-142010Rams1-157-92011Panthers2-146-102012Colts2-1411-5 (wild card berth)2013Chiefs2-1411-5 (wild card berth)2014Texans2-149-72015Buccaneers2-146-102016Titans3-139-7 (No. 1 pick traded to Rams)2017Browns1-150-162018Browns0-167-8-1Even with a rookie quarterback, there's no reason the Cardinals shouldn't be targeting January football.Cleveland BrownsDiamond Images / Diamond Images / GettyLast playoff appearance: 2002The Browns hold the longest playoff drought in the NFL but have the best odds to emerge from the ashes. Despite not having a new long-term contract in place, Julio Jones says he will be attending the Atlanta Falcons' mandatory minicamp when it begins July 22."(Falcons owner Arthur Blank) gave us his word. That's golden," Jones said in a video uploaded by TMZ Sports. After threatening to hold out prior to the 2018 season, the Falcons assured Jones they would redo his contract and satisfied the receiver with a temporary pay raise."There's no stress on my end," Jones said. "I'm not thinking about it. It makes it easy for me to just go out and work every day."Blank said earlier in the offseason he wanted Jones, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, and linebacker Deion Jones "to be Falcons for life."The six-time Pro Bowler led the NFL with 1,677 yards last season. Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker isn't sure if he'll be on the physically unable to perform list when training camp begins."I'll leave that up to the coaches," Walker said, according to Jenny Vrentas of The MMQB.Walker missed all of last year after suffering an ankle injury in the team's season opener. The 34-year-old participated in OTAs this offseason but was held out of June minicamp. He said he's been progressing in his recovery."Just stepping on the field, running routes and doing drills, that was the biggest (hurdle)," Walker explained. "I had only been running for two weeks, and being able to run routes against guys, and beating them."The three-time Pro Bowler was Tennessee's leading receiver in 2017, hauling in 74 catches for 807 yards and three touchdowns. A healthy Walker in Week 1 would provide a much-needed boost for quarterback Marcus Mariota."We have great coaches and training staff," Walker said. Frank Gore is entering his 15th year in the NFL, but the running back isn't thinking about the end of his career as the upcoming season approaches."I just go how I feel," Gore said on Saturday, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel's David Gurones. "If I feel I can’t do it no more, then I call it."After suffering a foot sprain that limited him to 14 games in 2018, Gore signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills earlier this offseason. He joins a cluttered backfield alongside LeSean McCoy, rookie Devin Singletary, and T.J. Yeldon."It was the second year where they came after me," Gore said of the Bills. "They showed that they wanted me again. In this league, especially at my age, you want to be wanted. That’s a factor that (went into the decision), especially coming off an injury."The 36-year-old led the Miami Dolphins in rushing yards last year with 722 on 156 carries. Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick Josh Jacobs might not be at camp when it begins due to a disagreement over the payment schedule of his signing bonus, The Athletic's Vic Tafur reports. The No. 24 overall selection is the only Raiders draft pick still unsigned and negotiations for his deal have not gone well, sources told Tafur. Rookies are to report to camp July 23.The Alabama product is expected to be the featured running back in Jon Gruden's offense and will likely carve out a significant role ahead of Jalen Richard and Doug Martin. With contract values and signing bonuses predetermined with the rookie wage scale, holdouts among first-year players have been rare. However, disagreements still arise over the payment schedule of bonuses and whether salary guarantees will have offsets. There are currently five other unsigned first-round draft picks, including San Francisco 49ers' Nick Bosa, New York Jets' Quinnen Williams, and New York Giants' Daniel Jones.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Bettors are apparently hitting the underdogs early for divisional futures. It's not surprising. One of last season's bottom-feeders is primed to jump to first this year based on recent trends, and recreational handicappers will talk themselves into any long shot. There are a few we like, too, but the name of the game is value. Don't be surprised if there are a few favorites being undersold in the market. Here are the odds for all eight divisional races, along with the teams we think offer the best numbers.AFC EastTeam OddsPatriots1-4Bills6-1Jets7-1Dolphins25-1The media loves picking against the Patriots. Every year, pundits make the case for why a team will swoop in and end New England's run of AFC East titles - currently at 10 years and counting. This offseason has been no different. Like clockwork, analysts and broadcasters have been pumping up the Bills' and Jets' potential while citing New England's imminent decline.New York and Buffalo could both improve from last season. They should improve. But we're living in a world where the Patriots could fall under their win total of 11 by, let's say, two full games, and still more than likely claim another division crown.New England still has a vast margin for error. Maybe next year.Pick: PatriotsAFC NorthTeam OddsBrowns5-4Steelers19-10Ravens7-2Bengals15-1It took a while, but we're officially at the point where the Browns are a solid football team. You'd typically have to pump the brakes on a squad that's seen its odds in the futures market drastically cut since the spring, but we don't think we should completely temper expectations. We also don't want to rule out the Steelers who, despite losing a few pieces of the puzzle, are still a talented team on which the market has cooled. There isn't enough there to hitch your wagon to one team, so place matching bets on both teams and take the marginal profit.Pick: Browns and SteelersAFC SouthTeamOddsColts5-6Texans3-1Jaguars9-2Titans7-1The AFC South is expected to be a tough division, with all four teams' win totals at 8.5 or higher. In this scenario, we'd take a look at the long shot - a Titans team that won arguably the league's quietest nine games last season under first-year head coach Mike Vrabel.Pick: TitansAFC WestTeamOddsChiefs5-8Chargers11-5Broncos8-1Raiders15-1What does regression for Patrick Mahomes look like? In the neighborhood of 4,500 yards and 40 touchdowns? We're not taking the lazy route and tabbing the Chiefs quarterback for a sophomore slump, but even with new faces on the defensive side of the ball, we can't count on the gunslinger to bail them out as frequently as he did last season. The best part about this Chargers future is that it's tied to the regular season - you don't have to consider the imminent postseason meltdown.Pick: ChargersNFC EastTeamOddsEagles1-1Cowboys3-2Redskins9-1Giants13-1We're particularly high on the Eagles this year. There's no contingency plan behind quarterback Carson Wentz should the injury bug bite again, but if we're banking on an entire season at full health, Philly has a favorable schedule and the talent to take the NFC East.Pick: EaglesNFC NorthTeam OddsBears9-5Packers2-1Vikings2-1Lions2-1This is the are-they-actually-good division. Is Chicago for real, or did the Bears just take advantage of a down year by the rest of the NFC North? Is Aaron Rodgers under center still masking the Packers' flaws elsewhere? Are the Vikings actually good? There's very little value on the board to be had, but the biggest upside is with Minnesota.Pick: VikingsNFC SouthTeamOddsSaints4-7Falcons7-2Panthers5-1Buccaneers10-1This is a Falcons bandwagon for 2019. An offense without Steve Sarkisian calling plays should maximize its talent, and the defense doesn't figure to succumb to as many injuries as it did a season ago. Matt Ryan for MVP, you heard it here first.Pick: FalconsNFC WestTeamOddsRams4-6Seahawks5-249ers5-1Cardinals30-1Speaking of MVPs, L.A.'s Jared Goff is another player we thought was underpriced. That wasn't as much a commitment to the Rams as it was backing a player who was severely undervalued. If things go awry for Los Angeles in 2019, San Francisco is the pick. The 49ers have yet to go a full year with Kyle Shanahan calling the plays and Jimmy Garoppolo leading the offense for a team bettors aren't taking seriously enough.Pick: 49ersAlex Kolodziej is theScore's betting writer. The questions continue to follow Eli Manning. Most notably, how long will he continue to be the quarterback of the New York Giants? The 38-year-old is entering his 16th NFL season, and following a couple of down years for both the veteran and the team, the questions persist.Manning, however, is in no hurry to leave the game."I'm not rushing into retirement, and Peyton's not telling me to rush into it," Manning told Rod Walker of NOLA.com. "I still love being around the guys and the teammates and playing this game. I'm going to play it for as long as I think I can hang with these guys."Though he hasn't put a date on when he'll hang up his cleats, Manning also hasn't professed plans to play into his 40s as fellow quarterbacks Tom Brady and Drew Brees have done, a feat Russell Wilson has stated as his goal."You take it year by year," Manning said. "I've been blessed going into my 16th year. That's been a blessing in itself. I love what I'm doing. I love the work that goes into it. Johnathan Joseph expects the NFL to have a strong British presence in the future, a result of the league's gradually increasing presence overseas."It's only a matter of time before we have a (British) player on a roster," the Houston Texans cornerback told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. While the NFL has employed players from the United Kingdom over the years, most of the notable ones - like Jay Ajayi, Osi Umenyiora, Sammy Morris, and Domonique Foxworth - grew up in the United States. In an effort to grow the league globally, the NFL has staged at least one regular-season game in London every year since 2007. It has a four-game series set for 2019, and the Texans will face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in one of those contests."The NFL's doing so much to promote our football over here," Joseph said, who's in London hosting events and spreading awareness for the NFL. "You find a talent pool like they have here, and they start to work at getting better, and, in time, I think you'll see several players in the NFL coming from here."Joseph is one of eight NFLers promoting the league and American football across the pond.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. While Patrick Mahomes is the odds-on favorite to repeat as the NFL's Most Valuable Player this upcoming season, he's not the most popular pick among bettors.Jay Kornegay, vice president of race and sports book operations at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, told Phil Thompson of the Chicago Tribune that they've sold more tickets on Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to win MVP than any other NFL player. Westgate initially listed Trubisky at 200-1 but moved the line to 50-1.Trubisky has also been the most popular MVP bet at Caesars Palace. He was listed at 75-1 in mid-June and now "he is 30-1 and is far and away our biggest liability," Jeff Davis, director of trading, told Thompson.Kornegay noted that Westgate has taken a lot of small wagers of between $20 and $100, likely made by Bears fans."I just want to know what kind of water you guys are drinking up there," he said. The first two seasons of John Ross' NFL career have been wholly forgettable. The ninth overall pick of the 2017 draft didn't record a catch in his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals and posted 21 receptions for 210 yards and seven touchdowns last year.Ross is hoping to alter his current career trajectory and he'll start by making an aesthetic change. He's swapping his No. 15 jersey number for No. 11, a number he wore briefly in college."I felt like, this is my third year, I get a chance to re-invent myself and recreate some of the old me," Ross told The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr."I kind of wanted to basically start everything over. I get to put Ross III on the back of my jersey and get to change the number. Hopefully, just change the whole year."Changing his narrative was part of the reason Ross didn't compete in the 40 Yards of Gold tournament against fellow NFL speedsters. Rob Gronkowski admits he's lost weight since retiring from the NFL, but not as much as those recent viral photos would lead you to believe. The former New England Patriots tight end joined "The Rich Eisen Show" on Wednesday and was asked about the slimmed-down figure he debuted at the premiere of Julian Edelman's Showtime documentary last week."I'm actually down to 250 right now," Gronkowski said. With job security a thing of the past, we expect the deck to be reshuffled even more before the year ends, but who will be the first coach ousted? Here, we dive into the odds for the first NFL head coach fired, as well as where our money would be.CoachOddsJay Gruden (Redskins)3-1Pat Shurmur (Giants)7-1Matt Patricia (Lions)10-1Dan Quinn (Falcons)12-1Bill O'Brien (Texans)12-1No coach fired15-1Doug Marrone (Jaguars)16-1Mike Zimmer (Vikings)16-1Adam Gase (Jets)20-1Brian Flores (Dolphins)20-1Jason Garrett (Cowboys)20-1Ron Rivera (Panthers)20-1Mike Tomlin (Steelers)25-1Anthony Lynn (Chargers)30-1Freddie Kitchens (Browns)30-1Mike Vrabel (Titans)30-1Kliff Kingsbury (Cardinals)35-1Matt LaFleur (Packers)35-1Sean McDermott (Bills)35-1Kyle Shanahan (49ers)35-1Vic Fangio (Broncos)40-1Pete Carroll (Seahawks)40-1Zac Taylor (Bengals)50-1Bruce Arians (Buccaneers)50-1John Harbaugh (Ravens)50-1Jon Gruden (Raiders)50-1Frank Reich (Colts)75-1Matt Nagy (Bears)75-1Sean Payton (Saints)75-1Sean McVay (Rams)100-1Doug Pederson (Eagles)100-1Andy Reid (Chiefs)100-1Bill Belichick (Patriots)150-1Matt Patricia (10-1)The Lions' first season under Patricia was an odd one. The first-year head coach and branch of the Bill Belichick tree was reportedly late to meetings on a consistent basis, deployed some questionable coaching tactics like practicing in the snow, and apparently lost a handful of veterans' trust just weeks into the season.Coaching a franchise that's allergic to the postseason shouldn't typically come with much pressure, but Detroit's activity in free agency feels like a wake-up call. The front office expects to field a competitive team and wants results in Year 2, preferably early. That might be tough - the Lions are short favorites on the road to open the season and then sizable underdogs in their next five games.Bill O'Brien (12-1)It's crazy to think about what would have happened if the Texans didn't eke out consecutive overtime wins in Weeks 4 and 5 last season. Before that, Houston was 0-3 and O'Brien looked poised for a pink slip. Instead, the Texans rattled off nine straight and the head coach bought himself some time. However, O'Brien isn't in the clear considering the front office could reportedly be quick to cut bait. The Texans are expected to make a run in the postseason and they play in a division with three other teams expected to finish .500 or better. O'Brien's been on the chopping block for some time; another slow start and Houston will be ready for a change.Doug Marrone (16-1)Last season left a bad taste in the mouths of Jaguars fans. Remember, this team had the inside track to a Super Bowl berth in the 2017 AFC Championship Game, then followed up its memorable postseason meltdown by going 5-11.Jacksonville simply threw in the towel during the middle of last season. Once the losses started piling up, the Jaguars looked uninterested on a weekly basis. How can you trust them to rally if their backs are against the wall again? Here's the scary part: Jacksonville will be the underdog or a pick 'em in six of the team's first seven games. Marrone is already on the hot seat. Just like in Houston, another slow start and the front office will begin the coaching search.Alex Kolodziej is theScore's betting writer. Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson was recently ordered to pay back nearly $2.4 million to a lending service after he defaulted on a loan, according to court records obtained by the Baltimore Business Journal's Holden Wilen.Democracy Capital Corp. of Bethesda, Md., sued Peterson in June over a $4-million loan he took out in 2016, claiming he failed to pay the balance. The loan was due in February 2018 and was not repaid in full. Its original 15 percent interest rate jumped to 23 percent when the running back didn't make the first repayment of $200,000, according to court documents. Peterson did, however, make two payments later in 2018 worth a combined $1.7 million.A Maryland judge ordered Peterson to pay the remainder of the loan plus legal fees and interest June 12."We did know the filing was coming," said Peterson's attorney Doug Wolfe. "It's more of a procedural thing than anything else. ... We are in negotiations to resolve the matter."The 34-year-old has earned nearly $100 million during his 12-year NFL career.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Pat Bowlen's family will receive the late Denver Broncos owner's Hall of Fame jacket and ring, Pro Football Hall of Fame spokesman Pete Fierle confirmed to Mike Klis of 9News.Bowlen died on June 14 after a bout with Alzheimer's. He was announced as a 2019 Hall of Fame inductee in February and was to be enshrined in August.Previously, the Hall of Fame did not give gold jackets or rings to the family of a deceased player. However, Bowlen was elected before his death."Pat Bowlen is the first individual to pass away between the time he was elected and formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The process was underway to create his Hall of Fame gold jacket and Hall of Fame ring of excellence," Fierle said."As previously planned prior to his death, the gold jacket and ring of excellence will be presented to the Pat Bowlen estate to be displayed in the front lobby of the (Broncos') UC Health Training Center."The Hall of Fame will review its policy on posthumous elections."(HOF president) David Baker and the Hall of Fame made the right decision, and I believe it opens the door to reconsidering awarding rings and jackets to the families of all deceased enshrinees," Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis told ESPN's Paul Gutierrez on Tuesday. "It opens the door to making it right for other families, like Junior Seau's and Kenny Stabler's."Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Hue Jackson was fired from his role as head coach of the Cleveland Browns in October, and his former players weren't pleased with his parting words. After being let go, Jackson largely blamed others - including then-rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield - for his firing. A month later, Mayfield stared down Jackson, who was working as an assistant coach with the Cincinnati Bengals, during a game. When asked on Tuesday about Mayfield's actions, Browns tight end David Njoku sided with his signal-caller and claimed he represented the entire locker room."Obviously, we weren't happy with what Hue said about us after he left," Njoku said on "The Rich Eisen Show." "It is what it is, and Baker didn't appreciate that. We came together after Hue left and took it upon ourselves to work extra hard to finish the year off strong."Baker has a voice, as we all do, and we didn't appreciate what happened," Njoku continued. "It's not like we're robots. We felt, in a way, disrespected. So it is what it is."Jackson was fired after two-and-a-half seasons in Cleveland, during which he accumulated a dismal 3-36-1 record. After his dismissal, the team finished 2018 by winning five of its last seven games.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Peyton Manning has no interest in joining the Monday Night Football broadcast next season due to the awkwardness that would come from analyzing his brother and former teammates, sources told Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson.Eli Manning and the New York Giants are scheduled to appear on Monday Night Football twice during the 2019 campaign, while the elder Manning has plenty of friends on teams throughout the league."If he ever decides (Monday Night Football) is something he wants to do, it's going to be after Eli has finished his career and he gets a little bit further from his era of playing and maybe some of his teammates have moved on, too," one of the sources said."It would have been a tough position for him this season, with the Giants (and Denver Broncos) being on the schedule. There is a lot of loyalty there for him and I don't think he'd ever want to be in a position where he'd be conflicted about his analysis. It just wouldn’t have been a comfortable situation this year."ESPN and other networks have pursued Manning since his retirement in 2015. So far, the future Hall of Fame quarterback hasn't budged on any of the offers.Manning hasn't shut the door on a future in broadcasting and has also expressed interest in launching a front-office career at some point. The 43-year-old spent his playing days with the Indianapolis Colts and Broncos.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. The NFL and the players' association have begun discussing a new collective bargaining agreement in the hopes of securing a new deal before the upcoming season kicks off, sources told ESPN's Dan Graziano. The current CBA doesn't expire until after the 2020 season, but there have already been three negotiating sessions involving players and owners, as well as regular conversations between both sides outside of those meetings, Graziano added. Talks are expected to intensify throughout July with more meetings scheduled. Both sides are cautiously optimistic an agreement can be in place before the 2019 season begins. The owners are motivated to secure a new deal amid the league's "NFL 100" marketing campaign and impending re-negotiations with TV rights holders. If a new agreement isn't in place by March 2020, next season will include new contract and salary cap rules as part of the final year of the CBA. Some of these rules include a team's ability to use both the franchise and transition tags.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is considering expanding the number of enshrinees for one season.President David Baker said the Hall of Fame could potentially add 20 new members for the Class of 2020, both to deal with a backlog of deserving candidates and to honor the NFL's centennial season."It is extremely elite company, and it's not the Hall of very, very good. It's the Hall of Fame, and so it should be difficult to make it. But there's a lot of guys through the years, we've had several guys who are on All-Decade teams who aren't in the Hall of Fame," Baker said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday."And so this is an opportunity with the centennial coming up, and what we've looked at potentially and has been approved, at least in concept, by our operating board - but we're going to have to go through the full board - is that potentially we would have 20 Hall of Famers enshrined for the year 2020."The Hall of Fame traditionally elects between four and eight new members from a list of 15 modern-era finalists. The proposed expanded 2020 class would feature more inductees from different eras and categories."It would be the five normal modern-era players elected from 15 finalists, and then it'll be 10 seniors, three contributors ... and two (coaches)," Baker said of the potential 20-member class. "But again, I want to stress that that's got to be something that is passed by our board at its meeting on Friday, Aug. 2."Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. A Nike shoe featuring an early version of the American flag was set to be released this week until Colin Kaepernick advised against it due to a symbol that some consider offensive, according to Khadeeja Safdar and Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal. The Air Max 1 USA includes an early design of the flag - often attributed to Betsy Ross - on the heel. Kaepernick, a sponsored Nike athlete, told the company that the sneaker is offensive to him and others because the symbol is connected to the slavery era. After hearing from Kaepernick, Nike asked stores to return the shoes before they hit shelves. In a statement, the company said the Air Max 1 USA was scrapped "as it featured an old version of the American flag," according to ESPN.Kaepernick famously kneeled during the American national anthem during the 2016 NFL season in protest of racial injustice and police brutality in the country. He has yet to play in the league since opting out of the final year of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers to hit free agency.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt was filmed talking with several Cleveland police officers outside a bar late Saturday night in a video obtained by TMZ.A witness told TMZ that Hunt was involved in a physical altercation with another man after leaving the Barley House, but the witness wasn't sure if it was friendly roughhousing or an actual fight.Hunt was not detained or arrested and no police report or documentation exists related to the incident, a police spokeswoman told Cleveland.com's Adam Ferrise and Mary Kay Cabot.Barley House owner Bobby George told WKYZ3, "I believe it was a small argument with one of his friends. Some have speculated the Pittsburgh Steelers will opt for a committee approach in their backfield after drafting Benny Snell in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. However, running back James Conner believes his workload in the upcoming season will mimic that of the previous campaign."I'll have a similar role. I'm healthy, first and foremost, I'm 100 percent healthy now. We'll cross that bridge when we get there," Conner said, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra. "But we got talent in that room. We got Jaylen Samuels who's a tremendous receiver, a talented runner. We got Benny Snell. We know the work that he did at Kentucky. He's a hard-bodied runner, so all those guys will get touches. It'll be fun this year just seeing those other guys being successful."The Steelers have typically featured a workhorse in the backfield under head coach Mike Tomlin.Conner, who missed three games last season with a high-ankle sprain, noted it was early in the offseason and his role is yet to be cemented."It goes week to week. The game plan will be different each week," he said. "I know I'll be a big part of it and have a big role. As far as specifics, we don't play it like that."The 24-year-old filled in seamlessly for a disgruntled Le'Veon Bell last season. Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson isn't worried about any possible fallout after requesting a trade away from the team."I don't really concern myself with that," Johnson said Saturday, according to George Thomas of the Akron Beacon Journal.Johnson said he would address the issue - if asked about it - at training camp when it opens on July 24.Quarterback Baker Mayfield took issue with the running back's trade request and said Johnson should commit to the team or "get out the way."Several Browns players then reportedly approached Mayfield, as they didn't appreciate the quarterback inserting himself into another player's business situation.Johnson said he didn't know of such a conversation in the locker room.Teammate Jarvis Landry stated the whole ordeal was a "non-issue."Cleveland reportedly doesn't plan to honor Johnson's trade request, which stems from a projected lack of playing time behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The Browns finished the 2018 season with a 7-8-1 record after going 1-31 over the previous two campaigns.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Ezekiel Elliott will meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday to discuss the incident in May when the Dallas Cowboys running back was briefly detained by police in Las Vegas, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.Though Elliott was not charged, players can still be subject to either a suspension or fine under the league's personal conduct policy without an arrest occurring.Elliot was handcuffed after an altercation with a security guard at a music festival and the incident was recorded by a bystander and uploaded online. The 23-year-old was suspended for six games in 2017 for violating the league's personal conduct policy after an ex-girlfriend said Elliot abused her.Elliot had a league-leading 1,434 rushing yards to go along with six touchdowns last season. With Lamar Jackson entering his first full season as a starting quarterback, many believe the Baltimore Ravens will feature a run-first offense that could struggle to move the ball downfield.Backup signal-caller Robert Griffin III, however, refuses to subscribe to such thinking."The offense will look different," Griffin told team writer Clifton Brown. "I think we'll shock some people with what we're going to do. If we need to run it 60 times, we can do it. But if we need to throw it 30 to 40 times, we can also do it. I think that's what we're working on, to make sure we have those capabilities."Baltimore parted ways with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg following last season's wild-card loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The offense is now led by Greg Roman.Jackson's 147 regular-season rushing attempts as a rookie were the most ever for a quarterback, but the Ravens prioritized adding size and speed at receiver this offseason. The team drafted Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin in April and added Michael Floyd and Seth Roberts during free agency."This game is about mismatches and that's what we're trying to create," Griffin said. "You get a guy like Hollywood (Brown), it's a speed mismatch. When you get a guy like Boykin, it's a height and reach mismatch. Get them in situations where they can be successful."If we can get Hollywood out there in training camp, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Because the guys we have out there already, I think, are playing phenomenal. It's exciting."Griffin himself has thrown just six passes over the past two seasons and is expected to be Jackson's primary backup in 2019.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. Randall Cobb felt as though he was dumped by the Green Bay Packers, and he's carrying a chip on his shoulder to the Dallas Cowboys."It's like the ex-girlfriend that broke up with you," Cobb said of his former team to Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. "When you see her five years later, you hope you're in a better situation than you were before - married, with kids, and you're able to say, 'Yeah, I did better without you.'"Cobb spent eight years with the Packers but the team made no effort to retain its longtime slot receiver in free agency. As a result, he took a one-year offer to join the Cowboys. The 28-year-old registered just 383 yards and two touchdowns in nine contests last year, with injuries once again slowing him down throughout the season."If the Packers would have made an offer, I would obviously have had to weigh that decision," he said. "But I'm very excited and very happy to be down in Dallas. I think it's a great situation and I look forward to this season."The Cowboys host Cobb's old club on Oct. 6.Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved.
