Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons knows he didn't make any fans in Philadelphia after questioning Jalen Hurts' MVP bid."I'm pretty sure they hate me," Parsons said of Philadelphia, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. While discussing the Eagles quarterback potentially winning the prestigious award on "The Voncast" earlier this week, Parsons commented: "Is it Hurts or the team?"The 23-year-old linebacker said he stands by his remarks but meant no ill will toward the signal-caller."You've got to stand on everything you say just as a man, but obviously, they small-clipped it and took one line of what was really talked about," Parsons noted, per Archer. "But no pun intended or no disrespect to Hurts, I think he's doing great this year."Hurts declined to respond to Parsons' comments Wednesday, stating that his focus was solely on Philadelphia's next opponent, the Chicago Bears."If we can't have opinions, I mean, you guys get to talk shit all day, why can't we talk a little chatter?" Parsons said. "I don't understand what's so hurtful when we talk about each other. We're the players. We play every day. So, I think people should have opinions."The Eagles lead the NFC East with a 12-1 record while the Cowboys trail with a 10-3 mark. The two clubs are set to meet for their final regular-season meeting Dec. 24 in Dallas.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

Week 14 was another 2-3 effort outright. Thankfully, our five most valuable underdogs went 3-2 against the spread (41-26-3 on the season). On the one hand, the Broncos covered thanks to a big comeback. On the other, one wonders if they could've pulled off a win if Russell Wilson hadn't suffered a head injury. Speaking of injuries, we'll never know how much better the Cardinals' offense would've been with Kyler Murray after he went out on Arizona's first drive of a winnable game. How it worksWe parlay five underdogs we like ATS in 10 different three-team parlays. Using every combination of a three-team parlay is called a round robin. We'll use a total of 1.1 units to make 11 different bets: 10 three-team parlays and one five-team parlay, each for .1 units. You'll likely double your money if three teams pull off the upset. If four teams win, you're connecting on four separate parlays and will be very pleased with the return. If all five teams win, you'll be diving into a silo of gold doubloons like a young Scrooge McDuck.Who to playColts +180After winning Jeff Saturday's debut, the Colts lost their next three games. They faced strong pass rushes in the Eagles, Steelers, and Cowboys, but Indianapolis lost those contests due to self-inflicted wounds. Indy fumbled a handoff near the goal line against Pittsburgh and committed numerous fourth-quarter turnovers in Dallas. The Vikings have the league's third-worst sack rate over the last three games (2.86%), while their season-long metrics also put them near the bottom. The Colts' season got off the rails early with their offensive veterans fluctuating in and out of the lineup. However, as long as Saturday has a relatively healthy group playing hard off their bye, Indy can pull off a win with a better-looking offense and a top-10 defense.Falcons +180The Falcons almost beat New Orleans in Week 1, outgaining a healthy Saints team 416-385. After the Buccaneers plunged a sword into New Orleans' season, a veteran team with high expectations will have a hard time playing out the string. Plus, the Saints are being asked to win this game by a decent margin at a high probability.Desmond Ridder takes over at quarterback coming off of the Falcons' bye, giving Atlanta a potential peek at its future. He won't be a drop-off from Marcus Mariota given that the rookie can use his legs, too, and it's not like his predecessor threw the ball well anyway.Jaguars +190Are we sure we shouldn't be worried about the Cowboys? They've now been in close games with the Giants, Colts, and Texans. Dallas' rating has only moved up since its last road game a month ago, and the team has lost twice in three outdoor games this season.Trevor Lawrence claims he flipped a switch in London. Whether he's another young adult claiming to have found themselves in Europe, or he's just more comfortable with Doug Pederson's offense, the Jaguars quarterback is better than Daniel Jones, Matt Ryan, and a makeshift Texans platoon.Buccaneers +165Tampa Bay!? What are you doing here?!The league's worst team relative to the betting market over the last two-plus months has finally gotten the rating downgrade we've been waiting for. It came just in time for the potential return of starting safeties Antoine Winfield and Mike Edwards, as well as nickel corner Sean Murphy-Bunting. Tristan Wirfs is doubtful again at right tackle, but Trey Hendrickson has a wrist injury and will be compromised if he plays. Throw in a handful of injuries to Joe Burrow's targets and a rare situation with the Bucs as home underdogs, and we'll play on Tom Brady's ability to pull off another victory after an embarrassing loss.Giants +180We'll finish off the week with a toss-up where we're getting paid almost two-to-one. Giants-Commanders is such a coin-flip that the two teams literally tied two weeks ago while recording nearly identical yards per play. Jones continued his run of good play against the burgundy and gold by completing 25 of 31 passes while running for 72 yards. With Washington's weak home-field advantage, look for Brian Daboll to make the appropriate adjustments to keep the Giants alive for a big payout with a win amid a wave of blue and red. Here's how the odds look this week:PARLAYODDS (Approx.)IND+ATL+JAX+2000IND+ATL+TB+1900IND+ATL+NYG+2000IND+JAX+TB+1900IND+JAX+NYG+2000IND+TB+NYG+1900ATL+JAX+TB+1900ATL+JAX+NYG+2000ATL+TB+NYG+1900JAX+TB+NYG+1900IND+ATL+JAX+TB+NYG+15300Who are your five underdogs for a football betting lottery ticket?Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson said Thursday he'd like to see third-stringer Mason Rudolph start at quarterback over backup Mitchell Trubisky if Kenny Pickett is unavailable for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers."Yeah, I want to see him play," according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor."I know he's ready to play. I know it's probably in the back of his mind like, 'Dang, when I'm going get my chance?' I feel like this week is it for him. I know he's going to do everything it takes to be prepared this week, get ready for Sunday."Pickett's status is uncertain due to a concussion suffered in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The first-round rookie got his first taste of NFL action in the second half of Pittsburgh's Week 4 game against the New York Jets and has started every game since.Trubisky, who signed a two-year deal in free agency, began the season as the starter before eventually losing the role to Pickett. Trubisky struggled in four starts this year, completing 59% of his passes for 653 yards and two touchdowns to two interceptions. He entered the game versus the Ravens after Pickett went down and tossed three picks.Johnson and Trubisky had a heated exchange early this campaign, with the veteran signal-caller reportedly calling the receiver out in the locker room before his second-half benching against the Jets. Johnson apparently yelled at Trubisky to throw him the ball more, and Trubisky stood up to confront him."Whoever's at quarterback, they have got to be prepared as well," added Johnson, who's yet to catch a touchdown in 2022. He leads his club with 67 receptions for 647 yards."They've got to be on their stuff just like me. I'll make sure I talk to (Pickett) to see if he's cool or whatnot. But no matter who it is, I'm, I'm going to be ready. Don't matter who's throwing the balls, as long as you're making the play on the ball at end of the day."Rudolph's been inactive every game this season. He suffered the injury in last Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.Jackson, who's dealing with a PCL sprain, reportedly could return for Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Ravens are in a tight race for the division crown with the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams sit at 9-4 but Baltimore currently tops the AFC North thanks to a head-to-head win.Jackson has thrown for 2,241 yards and 17 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 12 starts in 2022. He's also racked up 764 yards with his legs.Huntley completed eight of 12 passes for 88 yards and ran for 31 yards before exiting against the Steelers. Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said he's ready to take on the weather and the Buffalo Bills on Saturday."I think for me, it's understanding that there could be many things - could be snowing, it could rain, I don't know," Tagovailoa said, according to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques."For me, it's a mindset thing, really. If I'm too focused on, 'Is it too cold? Can I grab the ball,' then I would say I'm focused on the wrong things. It'll be hard to play that way going (up) there and playing against a good team."Tagovailoa isn't a stranger to the cold, but Saturday's contest could be his first time playing an NFL game in the snow. The 24-year-old performed poorly against the Tennessee Titans in cold and wet conditions last season. The less-than-stellar play prompted Tagovailoa and his younger brother Taulia to throw together in Maryland over the offseason with temperatures below freezing and snow on the ground."It felt really good throwing it while it was snowing," he said. "I didn't feel any effects of throwing in the snow."Tagovailoa noted to reporters Wednesday that it snowed during his time playing in college at Alabama. However, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, recorded just seven inches of snowfall in its snowiest year, while 77 inches of snow covered Orchard Park between Nov. 17 and Nov. 19, according to WKBW's Michael Schwartz.Tagovailoa will look to rebound against the AFC leading-Bills after a rough game against the Los Angeles Chargers in which he completed 10 of 28 passes for 145 yards and a score.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. Few quarterbacks have played better than Trevor Lawrence lately. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback was inconsistent in the first half of the season but has since become one of the NFL's most efficient passers. On Wednesday, he said his disappointing outing in London against the Denver Broncos in Week 8 marked a turning point."(We) should have won that game," Lawrence said, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "I remember I never forgot how I felt in that locker room, so I don't want to feel like this anymore. I'm going to: one, start taking care of the ball, but two, I just want to be the player that I know I can be."And I think that kind of flipped a switch in me, and honestly, too, I think I have a little bit more of a chip on my shoulder now."Lawrence, who tossed only 12 touchdowns against a league-high 17 interceptions as a rookie last year, completed just 58% of his passes for 133 yards and one touchdown to two interceptions against Denver. The Broncos beat the Jaguars 21-17.But the 2021 first overall pick has been on fire since.Weeks 1-8Weeks 9-14Games85Comp.%6271Yds/Att6.647.5TD1010INT60Record2-63-2"Last year-and-a-half, I don't really forget what's been said and what people have written," Lawrence added. Last season, we rocked and rolled our way to the Super Bowl with music-themed Thursday Night Football player props, joyfully celebrating the start of a new NFL week. This year, we'll use an episode from "Must See TV" cornerstone "Seinfeld" each week to remind us that betting is supposed to be fun, even when an absurd series of events leads to a losing bet."We're lucky they're even interested in us in the first place. We've got a show about nothing. With no story. What do you think, they're up there going, 'Maybe we should give those two guys, who have no experience and no ideas, more money?'" - Jerry to George after he passes on NBC's offer to produce their sitcom pilot. The 49ers were ready to go into the season with Trey Lance and Brock Purdy. Talk about limited experience. Two quarterbacks on rookie contracts were supposed to allow San Francisco to keep a loaded roster intact. When push came to shove, Jimmy Garoppolo went back into negotiations to keep his 49ers tenure alive for another year. Two injuries later, and it's Purdy who excelled in his pilot episode. Meanwhile, San Francisco had to go into its wallet for a fourth quarterback - veteran uber-journeyman Josh Johnson, who's had more jobs than George Costanza.'The Wallet'Season 4 of 'Seinfeld' started with three different hour-long double episodes. Presumably, that was the network's attempt to take advantage of the sitcom's popularity. It was at the point in the show's run when the studio audience would wildly cheer when Kramer entered his first scene. After less than two games, Purdy's already gaining Kramer-like popularity, with Shanahan guiding the rookie like an offensive coaching Svengali.'The Wallet' was the front half of a "to be continued" episode. The 49ers won the first meeting with the Seahawks easily. But San Francisco added Christian McCaffrey while this rivalry was on a "to be continued" pause. Like "Crazy" Joe Davola on Kramer's head, the running back is ready to make an imprint in this matchup.Seattle allows the sixth-most receiving yards to running backs, but San Francisco only threw twice to a tailback in Week 2. With Deebo Samuel out and the team on a short week, McCaffrey should be more involved in the passing game regardless of who starts at quarterback. He's had 34-plus receiving yards in five of his last six games since being limited in his 49ers debut. Even the slightest increase in usage should put McCaffrey over.Pick: Christian McCaffrey over 37.5 receiving yardsA TD that's definitely going to happenJerry opens "The Wallet" with a stand-up bit about the different vantage points of looking at the dashboard. If you're looking at the needle on the gas gauge from the passenger seat, the tank looks closer to empty. Samuel being out might appear troublesome. But if you've been watching San Francisco straight on, you know Brandon Aiyuk has technically been the Niners' leading receiver. That's taken responsibility off George Kittle in the passing game, but the tight end loves facing Seattle - something that might be lost after he missed the first matchup. Kittle had 22 targets in two games against the Seahawks last season, exploding on the road for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Seattle is having trouble defending tight ends this campaign, allowing the fourth-most yardage to the position.Without Samuel, Aiyuk should get coverage attention near the goal line since he's recorded seven scores this season. Purdy or Johnson will look for Kittle in the red zone in the toughest road environment San Francisco has faced this season. We're getting a price up over +200 because Kittle has just four touchdowns in 11 games played in 2022.Pick: George Kittle anytime touchdown (+210)A TD that probably won't happen ... but maybe it doesThe episode is called "The Wallet" because Jerry's dad believes someone stole his wallet while he was being treated by a New York back specialist. If you've been hoping for big things from our long-shot touchdown bets this season, you also might be running around yelling, "My wallet's gone! My wallet's gone!" That's why they're long shots.Colby Parkinson isn't Kittle, just as Costanza isn't Ted Danson. Nominally the Seahawks' third tight end, Parkinson plays 33% of his team's offensive snaps per game. He's been targeted in 10 of 13 contests this season, and he's caught a pass every matchup he's been thrown to. Parkinson scored in the season opener but hasn't found the end zone since. If he does, we'll be as excited as Jerry, George, and Kramer when Elaine surprises them on her return from Europe. If Parkinson doesn't score, then we'll react like Elaine when she touches her face after the guys ask her about her relationship - a classic tell that things aren't going great.Pick: Colby Parkinson anytime touchdown (+1100)How to bet: The first two bets should be single-unit wagers to win a unit on minus prices and more than a unit on a plus-money bet. The last wager should be smaller, trying to win back your standard unit size.Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. If there’s a bad beat to be had, Matt will find it. The NFL and NFLPA are reviewing the circumstances surrounding New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker's display of concussion-like symptoms and subsequent exit from Monday's game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.Parker appeared to be shaken up after taking a hard hit on a 10-yard reception. Teammate Nelson Agholor attempted to get the attention of officials to halt the game so that Parker could be removed before the next play. The 29-year-old left the contest after making two receptions for 24 yards.Parker criticized the NFL on Tuesday, telling the league to "get on y'all's f----n' job" on Instagram and thanking Agholor, according to NESN's Zack Cox.The NFLPA previously initiated a review of the September incident in which Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was allowed to return to a game after hitting his head on the ground and stumbling toward the team's huddle. Tagovailoa told the team physician and an independent neurotrauma consultant that his unsteadiness was a result of back and ankle injuries. The Dolphins passer was cleared to play and sustained another hard hit to his head in a game four days later. He was briefly hospitalized and diagnosed with a concussion.Following the review, the league fired the independent neurotrauma consultant and amended its concussion protocol. One of the amendments states that players who display ataxia should be removed from the game and entered into the protocol. The NFL and NFLPA's joint statement defined ataxia as "abnormality of balance/stability, motor coordination, or dysfunctional speech caused by a neurological issue."Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. In Week 13, Lamar Jackson went out early, which probably prevented the Ravens from covering -2.5 in legs teased down. On Monday night, Kyler Murray was injured on the third play from scrimmage, and it's hard to convince me that the Cardinals wouldn't have scored more than 13 points if he hadn't gotten hurt.Vikings teaser legs also went down, but in a different way. Minnesota-Detroit was a good example of the difference between a 2.5-point spread in a game with a high total versus one with a low total like Baltimore-Pittsburgh. The Vikings game always felt close, but its loose nature resulted in the Lions winning by more than one score, whereas the Ravens' six-point lead seemed insurmountable for the Steelers. Some games don't have a teaser-worthy point spread. For example, Week 15's Thursday nighter has the 49ers as 3.5-point favorites on the road in Seattle. Teasing San Francisco would bring the spread through zero, wasting valuable price points around an improbable tie.Teasing the Seahawks to +9.5 gets the key numbers through a touchdown, but you're already winning on a 3-point margin at a -110 price. Getting +6, +7, or +8 over a big sample size isn't worth the price hike over -270, especially since you're not even getting a push with +10.The Steelers and Panthers have regularly played low-scoring contests, and this Sunday, they meet in a tightly lined game. We can use Pittsburgh's visit to Carolina (-2.5) to exemplify the value of teasing a short underdog up.ALT. More importantly, Pittsburgh's alternative spread (+8.5) is priced at -350, which is much higher than getting the team at +8.5 with a teaser leg at around -270.To get an incredible deal on Steelers +8.5, we must pair them with another bet and win both to cash the ticket. Fortunately, we can choose that other leg from our weekly "teaser basket" using what we know about key numbers.Teaser basketLet's look at the mathematically optimal plays available for Week 15:TEAMSPREADTEASER LEGBills-7.5-1.5Steelers+2.5+8.5Cardinals+2.5+8.5Packers-7-1A few games could find their way into the basket. If the Ravens move to +2.5 for Saturday's game in Cleveland, it will likely be due to a clean bill of health for Tyler Huntley. At that point, getting the Ravens at +8.5 would be very valuable. Meanwhile, the Eagles are an eyelash away from being tease-able. They're widely available at -9, but should that fall to -8.5, a six-point tease would take Philadelphia down under a field goal. Lastly, the Titans are an interesting bet at +3 against the Chargers, but if that dropped to +2.5, or stayed at +3 with heavy juice, then we'd grab them on our way to the checkout. The Dolphins are banged-up with hobbled receivers, Tua Tagovailoa has started to struggle, and Miami will play its third road game in a row in potentially grim weather conditions as the Bills host. The spread has moved across a touchdown, but is still vulnerable to a teaser. There's all kinds of murkiness at quarterback in the matchup between the Cardinals and Broncos. Arizona obviously won't have Murray and Russell Wilson may not be available for Denver, leading to a potential matchup of Colt McCoy and Brett Rypien. What we can expect is a low-scoring game, which makes every point valuable, and getting 8.5 points with either side would be worth a bet.On Monday night, the Packers host Baker Mayfield and the Rams. While Mayfield's impromptu performance Thursday was remarkable, somehow pulling out a victory, a road win in Green Bay would be a next-level accomplishment - one worth betting against.Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. Wide receiver Cole Beasley is coming out of retirement and signing with the Buffalo Bills' practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.Beasley will likely be promoted to the gameday roster in short order, reports NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The 33-year-old retired in October, a month after signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He recorded four receptions for 17 yards in two games after Tampa activated him from the practice squad. The Houston native returns to Buffalo, where he spent three seasons from 2019-21. He racked up 231 receptions, 2,438 yards, and 11 touchdowns during his previous stint and averaged 10.6 yards per catch.Buffalo granted Beasley permission to seek a trade this past spring. His tenure ended in controversy due to his stance against vaccination for COVID-19 and the league's related protocols. The Bills have been among the clubs pursuing free agent Odell Beckham Jr. and hosted him for a visit recently, but it's unclear if the star pass-catcher will be able to suit up in the regular season.Beasley joins a depth chart that features Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, and Isaiah McKenzie.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. The NFL Power Rankings are selected by a panel of theScore's football editors.1. Philadelphia Eagles (12-1) Sarah Stier / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 1There's no debate regarding who's the best NFL team after 14 weeks. On Sunday, the Eagles became the first club to clinch a playoff berth this season. It seems only a matter of time until they claim the NFC's No. 1 seed.2. Dallas Cowboys (10-3)Previous Rank: 2Let's not overreact about the Cowboys' ugly victory over the one-win Texans - even good teams are allowed to have bad days. Dallas remains the biggest threat to the Eagles in the NFC.3. Cincinnati Bengals (9-4)Previous Rank: 3Injuries to key skill-position players could be an issue in the final weeks of the regular season for the Bengals. However, they'll remain competitive as long as Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are healthy. Chase caught 10 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown Sunday to help Cincinnati win its fifth consecutive game.4. Kansas City Chiefs (10-3)Previous Rank: 4Teams usually lose contests when their quarterback tosses three interceptions. Patrick Mahomes threw three picks in Week 14 - tying a single-game high for him - but the Chiefs still put up 431 total yards and 34 points to beat the Broncos.5. San Francisco 49ers (9-4) Thearon W. Henderson / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 6Rookie Brock Purdy looked solid in his first NFL start and kept the 49ers' offense on the rails. That's exactly what San Francisco and its top-ranked defense need to keep thriving.6. Buffalo Bills (10-3)Previous Rank: 5Josh Allen and Buffalo's offense again struggled against the Jets' defense, but Sunday's win was crucial for the Bills. They remain the AFC's No. 1 seed at the moment.7. Miami Dolphins (8-5)Previous Rank: 7Miami is coming off back-to-back road losses in which the team's offense struggled. Things won't get any easier as the Dolphins visit the Bills in Week 15.8. Detroit Lions (6-7)Previous Rank: 14The No. 8 spot might appear too high for a team with a losing record. But the Lions, winners of five of their last six games, are the hottest team in football and just beat the 10-win Vikings. Detroit can match up against anybody right now.9. Minnesota Vikings (10-3)Previous Rank: 8Minnesota is still in full control of the NFC North and could clinch the division title with a win in Week 15. However, losing to Detroit raises even more questions about how the Vikings will fare versus better competition in the postseason.10. Baltimore Ravens (9-4) Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyPrevious Rank: 13The Ravens' offense still has glaring holes, but Baltimore deserves a lot of credit for beating Pittsburgh on the road without quarterback Lamar Jackson.11. Washington Commanders (7-5-1)Previous Rank: 9The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Commanders, who are refreshed and ready for the season's final stretch.12. Los Angeles Chargers (7-6)Previous Rank: 17Even with Derwin James sidelined, the Chargers' secondary did a superb job limiting Tua Tagovailoa to just 10 completions for 145 yards.13. New York Jets (7-6)Previous Rank: 12Losers of two in a row, the Jets are headed in the wrong direction. Mike White's toughness and ability to rally the troops have kept them in the fight.14. Tennessee Titans (7-6)Previous Rank: 10Despite being in a chaotic state, Tennessee is benefitting greatly from playing in the AFC's worst division. After making the rare in-season move to fire their general manager, the Titans dropped their third straight game Sunday.15. Seattle Seahawks (7-6) Steph Chambers / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 11The Seahawks will have to dig deep if they want to make the postseason. Three of their last four games come against clubs that currently have winning records.16. New England Patriots (7-6)Previous Rank: 18New England's offense remains a disaster, but the defense can lead the way to wins by itself. Josh Uche has been a breakout star, recording 10 sacks over the last five games.17. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-8)Previous Rank: 20The Jaguars are riding high thanks to Trevor Lawrence, who has thrown 10 touchdowns to zero interceptions over his past five games.18. New York Giants (7-5-1)Previous Rank: 15After Sunday's loss to the Eagles, the Giants are still searching for their first victory since Week 10.19. Green Bay Packers (5-8)Previous Rank: 19With Aaron Rodgers' health dominating storylines in Green Bay, the Packers got to enjoy a much-needed bye in Week 14.20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7) Cooper Neill / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 16Scoring just seven points Sunday, another low offensive output by the Bucs shouldn't come as a surprise. But rookie quarterback Purdy and the 49ers dominating Tom Brady and Co. raised some eyebrows.21. Carolina Panthers (5-8)Previous Rank: 28Against all odds, the Panthers are back in the mix for the NFC South crown after beating the Seahawks. They also have a favorable schedule down the stretch with three of their last four games against the Steelers, Bucs, and Saints.22. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-8)Previous Rank: 23The Steelers are one loss away from the first losing season of the Mike Tomlin era. This team has a long way to go.23. Atlanta Falcons (5-8)Previous Rank: 24Atlanta's last four games will be all about Desmond Ridder. Can the third-round rookie show enough promise to enter next season as the starter?24. Arizona Cardinals (4-9)Previous Rank: 22What had already been a supremely disappointing season for the Cardinals gets even more difficult following Kyler Murray's knee injury.25. Las Vegas Raiders (5-8) Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyPrevious Rank: 21Just when it seemed like the Raiders could make a late push for the playoffs, they lose to the Rams and Baker Mayfield. This team has no idea how to finish games.26. Cleveland Browns (5-8)Previous Rank: 25The Browns have one offensive touchdown in two contests with Deshaun Watson as the starting quarterback. It won't get any easier against the defenses down the stretch.27. Los Angeles Rams (4-9)Previous Rank: 30Mayfield performed unbelievably in his debut Sunday, just two days after landing with the Rams via waiver claim. He'll be an interesting free agent at season's end if he can build on that game over the next month.28. Chicago Bears (3-10)Previous Rank: 26The Bears are headed in the right direction and have all the resources you could want to build up the roster. Still, there's a ton of work to be done.29. Indianapolis Colts (4-8-1)Previous Rank: 27Wins will be difficult to come by over the season's final month. Can the Colts sneak into a position to draft a quarterback?30. New Orleans Saints (4-9) Julio Aguilar / Getty Images Sport / GettyPrevious Rank: 29The Saints still being alive in the NFC South race tells you everything you need to know about that division. This team has a lot of problems. Cap issues in the offseason ahead may only make things more difficult.31. Denver Broncos (3-10)Previous Rank: 31Russell Wilson and the Broncos' offense finally started to make some plays in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. They came up short in the end, but it was a promising sign as this nightmare season nears its conclusion.32. Houston Texans (1-11-1)Previous Rank: 32The Texans almost came away with the upset of the year against the Cowboys. As fun as that result would have been, solidifying their place atop the 2023 NFL Draft is more important.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. First-year running back Pierre Strong led the team with 70 yards and one score on just five carries. Sixth-round rookie Kevin Harris added 33 yards and found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career in the first quarter.Injuries have been an issue for New England's offense, as the AFC East club didn't have running back Damien Harris and receiver Jakobi Meyers against the Cardinals. He added he plans to follow the Saints' lead in appealing the fine."In terms of how I play this game and how hard I play this game, I was like, 'Yo, if this was a civil lawsuit, I'd countersue for triple the amount,'" Jordan said.He added: "You know my track record, you know I'll do everything I can to try to be on the field and try to be part of the team."Jordan has played in 188 of a possible 190 games over his 12-year career. Sunday Rundown recaps the most important developments from the day's action and examines their significance moving forward.Lions heating up NurPhoto / NurPhoto / GettyThe 5-7 Lions' status as favorites over the 10-2 Vikings could have, and perhaps should have, been the ultimate bulletin board material for Minnesota. Maybe it was. But it didn't matter.Detroit cruised to a 34-23 win with 464 yards of offense, which should clear up any confusion about the betting line heading into this week. The Lions deserved that kind of faith - they're just a better football team.We saw flashes of elite play from Detroit's offense early in the season, with the unit averaging 35 points per game in the opening month, but the defense was such a mess that the team only produced a 1-3 record. When injuries struck and the offense hit a wall in the back-to-back blowout losses that followed, it seemed like the Lions would have to wait until next year to take the next step.Dan Campbell and Co. had other plans. The resurgence started with a Week 8 game against the Dolphins. That ended in another defeat, dropping the Lions to 1-6, but their ability to hang with a juggernaut Miami offense in the 31-27 contest was evidently a sign of things to come.Detroit has since won five of its last six games, with the only loss being a 28-25 defeat at the hands of the Super Bowl-contending Bills on Thanksgiving Day. The offense, of course, has been the key to it all, with an incredibly designed scheme getting the most out of an outstanding group of playmakers and one of the league's premier offensive lines. And now they get the healthy return of explosive first-round rookie Jameson Williams, who hauled in a 41-yard touchdown on his first NFL catch to open the scoring.Sunday headlines about the Lions seeing Jared Goff as a long-term quarterback may have given you some pause, but the veteran signal-caller is playing the best football of his career as Detroit's point man. Goff was near-perfect against the Vikings, throwing for 330 yards and three touchdowns and posting his fifth straight game without an interception. With the defense having taken some subtle steps in the right direction of late - making timely plays to get off the field, as we saw with two key turnovers against the Vikings - the formula is far more conducive to favorable results. They're only 6-7, but nobody is as hot as the Lions right now.Chasing down the Vikings for the NFC North title would be next to impossible, as it'd not only require a perfect finish from Detroit, but also an 0-4 stretch run from Minnesota. A wild-card spot is very much on the table, though. The Lions will enter the last four games just one win behind the Commanders, Giants, and Seahawks in the race for the sixth and seventh seeds in the NFC playoff picture. If the Lions can sneak into the playoffs as the final wild-card team, they'll draw the No. 2 seed. At this point, that could easily end up being the Vikings. And the way Minnesota's defense is playing, you can bet it wants nothing to do with this Lions offense.Herbert outshines Tua Ronald Martinez / Getty Images Sport / GettyThe football world tends to do this weird thing with quarterbacks, acting like they're the only person with any say in whether their team wins. And when #QBWinz somehow seeps into every mainstream conversation about the position, we treat things like Sunday night's matchup of top 2020 draft picks as though there's even a debate to be had.To be clear, Tua Tagovailoa has been incredible all year. His growth into a quality NFL starter has been a joy to watch, and he's been masterful at the controls of Mike McDaniel's offense. Limitations in natural arm talent just don't matter as much when you play with his level of anticipation and precision in attacking zones over the middle of the field. But Justin Herbert is on another level. The Chargers quarterback was far and away the best player on the field Sunday night against Tua's Dolphins. He made one ridiculous throw after another in leading his team to a much-needed win, connecting on a career-high 39 of 51 passes for 367 yards and one touchdown.Meanwhile, Tagovailoa struggled with the tight windows created by the Chargers' press man coverage, completing just 10 of 28 passes for 145 yards and a score. Tyreek Hill being in and out of the game due to an ankle issue was also a factor, but that merely demonstrated how invaluable the superstar receiver is to Tua and the Dolphins' offense. He's their MVP.But Los Angeles barely escaped with a one-score victory despite limiting a high-powered Dolphins passing game and Herbert playing out of his mind. It's just another example of how much meat this team leaves on the bone. Frankly, it's become something of a yearly ritual. The Chargers should be in the playoffs at season's end. If Joey Bosa and Rashawn Slater return for the stretch run, L.A. could even make some noise. But until it starts running an offense designed to take advantage of what its all-world quarterback can do - which seems unlikely to ever happen with this offensive coaching staff - we're going to be left wanting more.In the meantime, Herbert's rare abilities will likely be saved for the times when the Chargers don't have any choice but to attack downfield. Just don't let stats, win/losses, and Los Angeles' general incompetence fool you into thinking he isn't one of the top three quarterbacks in the game right now.The AFC West rivalry between Herbert and Patrick Mahomes will be one of the best things this sport has to offer for a long time to come.Mr. Irrelevant no more Icon Sportswire / Icon Sportswire / GettyLast week, when the 49ers lost Jimmy Garoppolo to injury, I suggested that we'd soon find out just how 2000 Ravens-like this 49ers defense could be in pursuit of a Super Bowl. With sincere apologies to Brock Purdy, I'm here to walk back that notion. While the defense remains the team's heart and soul and the key to matching up with the tough competition in this year's NFC playoffs, the idea that the offense would fall off with a seventh-round rookie under center looks to have been a tad presumptuous.Purdy got his first start Sunday against the Buccaneers, and it couldn't have gone much better. The raw statistical production - completions on 16 of 21 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns - was nothing spectacular, but that doesn't even begin to tell the story of his steady presence. Thriving under pressure, extending plays, and attacking downfield to positive results, he looked more like a seasoned veteran. That the 49ers aren't hiding Purdy within the scheme, as you might expect with an inexperienced rookie forced into action, demonstrates the trust he's earned from Kyle Shanahan. Not only does he have the offense running as it would have with Garoppolo, but there may even be reason to believe that his skill set opens up further possibilities.

Each Monday, we'll finish off the week that was in the NFL with a look at value spots in the remaining game - under one condition: You promise not to chase. Whether Sunday provided a boost to the accounts or left a little to be desired, Monday Night Football provides an opportunity to show responsibility in your betting, as there'll always be another wild Sunday to get lost in.It's not the hottest Monday night matchup in the Valley of the Sun, but that's what betting is for. The Patriots have a much better claim to playoff contention than the Cardinals, but is that enough reason to make New England the favorite, given that it's lost two straight games - both in prime time? Or is it a coaching matchup between Bill Belichick and Kliff Kingsbury that has bettors more interested in the Patriots?Patriots @ Cardinals (+2, 43.5)We'll listen to the case for Belichick's advantage right up until we realize Matt Patricia is calling plays on offense opposite solid Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. And what's Belichick's reason for having Patricia call plays despite Mac Jones' apparent dissatisfaction? It's too late to have someone else do it. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. All the jokes about Kingsbury's late-season record have to do with his stint at Texas Tech, where the Red Raiders' schedule was weighted to the back end. Last year's Cardinals got attention for starting the season on a seven-game win streak, but they were never as good as that small sample size suggested. Plus, once Deandre Hopkins was out of the lineup and Kyler Murray returned from his own injury hobbled, Arizona was playing with one hand tied behind its back. The Cardinals' early-season 2-4 record - which coincided with Hopkins' suspension and Marquise Brown going down - actually looked like their late-season record usually does. But both are back and healthy, coming off Arizona's late bye. A week of rest should have Murray at his most mobile, ready to take advantage of a Patriots defense whose numbers were propped up by replacement-level opposing quarterbacks until successively running into extremely capable QBs in Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen.New England couldn't cover indoors against the Vikings or outdoors at home against the Bills. Arizona seems to be a step down from those opponents, but the coach's reputation ends up overrating the Patriots as much as it underrates the Cardinals.Pick: Cardinals +2Kyler Murray over 35.5 rushing yardsMurray has averaged 41.5 rushing yards per game in 2022 and has had 36 yards or more in five of his last six contests. So why is this total so low? It's the credit continuously given to the Patriots' defense this season and the idea that Belichick will take away what the Cardinals want to do.That might be the case with Hopkins, as it's easier to double-cover a star receiver. However, New England has already faced two explosive running quarterbacks: Lamar Jackson ran 11 times for 107 yards early in the campaign, and Justin Fields later carried the ball 14 times for 82 yards. The Patriots' defensive personnel may be incapable of keeping up with Murray, who's been more willing to take off this late in the season.Hunter Henry longest reception over 15.5 yardsIt's a Cardinals game - by rule, we have to investigate the opposing tight end for a big game. Arizona is easily the NFL's worst team at defending the tight end, allowing 6.9 receptions for 73.3 yards per game.Noah Fant's led the Seahawks in receiving yardage twice against the Cardinals, as did Dallas Goedert (8 receptions, 95 yards) and Tyler Higbee (8 receptions, 73 yards). Tight end luminaries such as Tommy Tremble and Juwan Johnson each had receptions over 15.5 yards. Both Darren Waller and Foster Moreau had 19-yard catches in Week 2. You don't even want to know how Travis Kelce shredded this defense in the season opener. Before a rough outing against the Bills in Week 13, Hunter Henry had a 20-yard reception in six of his previous seven games, so we'll hope he joins the illustrious company of tight ends to burn the Cards in the desert.Matt Russell is a betting writer for theScore. However, the club still found a way to beat its division rivals thanks to a big game from J.K. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles is searching for his team's identity after suffering a one-sided 35-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. With the offense held off the scoreboard until the third quarter and the defense surrendering 404 total yards, Tampa Bay finds itself at a pivotal moment in the 2022 campaign."We've got to decide what team we want to be," Bowles said postgame. "We can't be one set of Bucs and another set of Bucs. It's got to mean something."The coach didn't blame the team's lackluster performance on any one side, instead insisting it was a complete failure from everyone involved."As a coach, you don't go on the field, but we definitely got outcoached, so we're not excused from this at all," Bowles said. "But we got outplayed as well. As a team, as a group, we gotta buckle down, and we got to decide what our fate is in the next few weeks."Bowles noted that Tampa's eight penalties for 62 yards didn't help matters. The 6-7 Bucs remain a game ahead of the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons for first place in the NFC South. Tampa Bay has won three of its last five games and is attempting to earn a playoff berth despite erratic play down the stretch."We've got a one-game lead with four games to go," Bowles said. "We want it, or we don't."Quarterback Tom Brady wasn't sharp in Sunday's defeat. He completed 34 of 55 passes for 253 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The future Hall of Famer said the Bucs haven't played well consistently for four quarters but added that this week's loss wouldn't impact the team going forward."You got to put the work in, you gotta dig deep, and keep fighting," said BradyTampa Bay will try to bounce back against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc. New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams injured his calf during Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills.Williams appeared to suffer a noncontact injury while planting his leg awkwardly and falling to the ground. Trainers attended to him on the field, and he walked off under his own power before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest.Jets head coach Robert Saleh said postgame that Williams is day-to-day and has a chance to play in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.The 24-year-old entered Week 14 with a team-high nine sacks and added two more against the Bills before exiting. It's the first time Williams, the No. 3 pick in the 2019 draft, has recorded double-digit sacks in a season. If Williams is sidelined, Solomon Thomas would likely take on an expanded role alongside Sheldon Rankins and John Franklin-Myers.Copyright © 2022 Score Media Ventures Inc.
